About me
Marci Jones taught in the classroom for nine years in the South Bronx before relocating to DC for the 2016-2017 school year. After her nine years in the classroom, Marci had the opportunity to work with Veronica Boix Mansilla, a Project Zero senior researcher, in a pilot program involving three DCPS sites entitled The World in DC. Marci worked as the Global Studies Coordinator at H.D. Cooke Elementary School from August 2016-19. In this role, she designed and facilitated profesional development aimed at educating for global competence and worked closely with teachers and the leadership team in order to ensure that the teachers grow their understanding of global competence. Marci had the chance to build on her Project Zero repertoire by participating in the Making Across the Curriculum project with Project Zero researchers Edward Clapp and Sarah Sheya. Marci is currentlyan ELA Instructional Coach at School Within School at Goding (DCPS) and looks forward to continuing as a WISIT learning group co-leader.
