About me
Deirdre Palmer joined the National Gallery of Art in 2006 as a museum educator with the Tours and Docent Programs. As part of a team of three, she helps train a corps of 160 docents in a range of strategies designed to engage students and the general public through interactive tours. She creates the curriculum for docent training, develops and leads tours for both adult visitors and student groups, and facilitates professional development sessions for classroom teachers.
